Today, a new photo exhibition, called Princess Diana: Accredited Access, opens at Casa Loma in Toronto. After its successful runs in Los Angeles and Chicago, Toronto is the first Canadian stop for the showcase. This is the first walk-through documentary as told by a family of royal photographers: Anwar Hussein, Diana’s lifelong trusted companion and photographer, and his sons Samir and Zak, who are now are behind the lens of so many familiar and iconic images of a new generation of royals.

Princess Diana: Accredited Access is not only a visual journey. Along with huge photographic displays that follow Diana’s path from a kindergarten nanny up until the final public appearance as royals of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, visitors are accompanied by a complimentary audio-guide, narrated by photographers themselves. Sam and Zak share their personal, exclusive and never-before-told stories behind famous images from their own experience, and their father’s. The Husseins collectively spent four decades working side by side with the Princess and her family, and reveal what they witnessed first-hand, both in public and private moments. A neo-gothic castle becomes a perfect background for the travelling exhibition as it adds a level of immersion to the topic.

While Princess Diana was one of the most photographed people of her time, the exhibition narrates through the images how Diana used her power to modernize the monarchy — how she was breaking the stereotypes not only of royal behaviour and fashion, but approaches, barriers and stigmas, and how she touched people’s hearts anywhere she went, how her actions changed the monarchy and the world for the best.

After the photo exhibition, visitors are treated to a small display of art installations from renowned multimedia artist, Pauline Loctin, who created elaborate and unique artworks out of paper, inspired by some of Diana’s most famous moments, and developed exclusively for “Princess Diana: Accredited Access”.

The exhibition takes place on the second and third floors of Casa Loma.

You can purchase the tickets to the exhibit at www.casaloma.ca. Casa Loma also offers VIP dinner packages at BlueBlood Steakhouse.

Princess Diana: Accredited Access runs until June 12, 2022.
