The American Issue

Letter from the Editor

Welcome to FAJO’s American Issue!

Several months ago, our editorial team decided to have the American theme incorporated into our July issue, and publish the magazine the day after Independence Day.

The idea, however, wasn’t purely centred on having American content. Instead, we wanted to weave it in as smoothly as possible, adding the Canadian and international connection that our readers at home and around the world would find particularly inspiring.

Following weeks of scheduling, editing and designing, issue 10 is our most star-studded to date, featuring some of the most fascinating, powerful and energetic people in the fashion industry.

The fabulous Fern Mallis hosts us at her Manhattan home, the stylish Eva Jeanbart-Lorenzotti invites us to her New York City office and the multi-talented Jennifer Fisher connects with us via telephone from her home in California. And in one of my all-time favourite stories, Canada’s iconic Farley Chatto writes exclusively for FAJO about the Prada and Schiaparelli exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

To make this issue extra special, our in-house photographer and graphic designer, Kalynn Friesen, created a very special cover for FAJO that reflects the July theme. It’s colourful, vibrant and depicts the woman behind FAJO‘s brand – Gabrielle.

Enjoy this issue!
