Some fragrances are designed to be worn. Others are designed to become part of your personality. This summer, one of FAJO’s favourite luxury brands presents its latest release, unlike anything seen before.
Carolina Herrera’s newest eau de parfum, La Bomba, is bold, expressive and unapologetically feminine. The fragrance celebrates women who live loudly, embrace authenticity and refuse to fit into expectations. Rather than following trends, Herrera presents fragrance as a statement of confidence, freedom and self-expression.
The inspiration for La Bomba goes back decades into the House’s own history. Established in New York in 1981, Carolina Herrera has long been synonymous with vibrant sophistication and fearless elegance. Legendary fashion editor Diana Vreeland famously nicknamed Herrera “La Bomba”: it was a tribute to her magnetic energy, unmistakable style and larger-than-life presence. That spirit now becomes the foundation for the brand’s newest fragrance, inviting a new generation to embrace the same bold outlook on life.
At the heart of the fragrance is a vibrant fruity-floral composition created by master perfumers Christophe Raynaud, Quentin Bisch and Louise Turner. Opening with an unexpected burst of exotic pitaya, the scent immediately feels bright, juicy and energetic before unfolding into a rich floral bouquet centred around cherry peony and frangipani. The fragrance settles into a warm solar vanilla base, creating a finish that is both radiant and long-lasting.
“In every drop, I wanted to capture the pulse of a living city, the dance of desire, and the joy of the unexpected,” says Raynaud. “It is a celebration of boldness and beauty; an ode to those who live in full colour and full volume, without compromise.”
Like the fragrance itself, the bottle makes an unmistakable statement. Carolina Herrera has transformed La Bomba into a jewel-inspired butterfly, sculpted in vibrant shades of the House’s signature pink and red glass. The butterfly symbolizes transformation, freedom and attraction to light, while the gold-finished cap, adorned with a rose-toned stone inspired by pink quartz, references the House’s iconic jewellery collections.
“If the fragrance is wonderful, the bottle must be spectacular,” says Carolina A. Herrera, Creative Director of Carolina Herrera Fragrances. “We always aim to break moulds and create striking forms that reflect our love for creativity and noble materials.”
The campaign is fronted by Italian supermodel Vittoria Ceretti, whose more than 400 runway appearances and countless magazine covers have established her as one of fashion’s defining faces. Set to Cardi B, Bad Bunny and J Balvin’s hit I Like It, the campaign reflects the same fearless confidence embodied by the fragrance, with custom looks created exclusively for Ceretti by Carolina Herrera’s Creative Director Wes Gordon, in the brand’s New York atelier.
Perhaps what makes La Bomba particularly compelling is its refusal to position femininity as delicate or restrained. Instead, Carolina Herrera embraces exuberance, individuality and unapologetic confidence, encouraging women to take up space, express themselves freely and celebrate their own transformation.
The vegan fragrance is formulated with 86 per cent natural-origin ingredients, balancing modern perfumery with an increasingly thoughtful approach to ingredient sourcing.
La Bomba Eau de Parfum is available in 10 ml, 30 ml, 50 ml and 80 ml formats at major stores, such as Sephora and Holt Renfrew.
