Bike all May, bike all year…in style

May 27, 2014

You may have heard that Bike Month kicked off yesterday, with the Bike to Work Day in Toronto/GTA, Canada. Statistics show that over 200,000 Canadians bike to work every year to avoid traffic congestion, reduce their carbon footprint and lead a healthy lifestyle. Biking is good for your health and it’s also fun, but is not always the most convenient option for stylish people. Alas, the fashion gods have answered our prayers!

Canadian company Opus Bikes has its bikes assembled in Montreal, and sold at retailers across Canada. Their latest 2014 Urban line features 25 different models to satisfy every type of downtown cyclist: whether they commute to work, or simply ride for fun and freedom.

Several of their stylish, high-performance bikes for women are designed specifically for urban riding – and might even work well for women who prefer to wear heels! The most popular option is the Opus Nuovella, which retails at CAD $953. Its graceful aluminum frame, upright seating position and swept-back bars offer a delightful view of your surroundings. The sleek, internal gears and brakes are sealed from the elements too, which makes this a low-maintenance machine. Utilitarian touches, like a rack and fenders, complement the Nuovella’s city-friendly chain and skirtguards to make errands, commutes, and casual rides fast and fun—rain or shine.

Here are some photos from Opus’ latest collection, including the Nuovella bike.
