Emerging designer Ann Yee hosted her fall/winter 2014 presentation in New York City, on Feb.5.
The collection was titled Modern Nomad and featured a variety of wools, knits and furs. This was a mostly monotone line, punctuated with bursts of forest green, and contrasted against purple lipstick worn by all models. A strong focus was placed on layering – a practical move for a winter collection.
Yee has gathered her inspiration over the years from her parents’ trips to their native Hong Kong. Originally from South Lyon, Michigan, the designer has interned with Jill Stuart and Ebru Ercon, while receiving her B.S. in Fashion Design from Philadelphia University. She has an extensive experience in design knitwear, including her work for Barney’s, LaROK, Elizabeth and James, and Alice + Olivia. She has also played an integral part in the launch of contemporary knitwear label, DUFFY.
