Then, indulge in the hydrotherapy facilities which include a eucalyptus steam room, sauna and a refreshing green tea wellness pool. After an hour of hydrotherapies, the stage is set for relaxation to begin your journey, and I opted for the Holistic Stress Buster Journey. This journey is designed to be a personalized routine of tranquility, aimed at melting away tension and rejuvenating the senses. It begins with a 20-minute crystal bowl sound bath meditation session, allowing one’s mind to relax, so they can fully immerse their body in the physical components ahead. Then, prepare to be pampered for a two-hour head-to-toe session, including a vigorous full body scrub and massage, a refreshing foot treatment and a nourishing facial.

The benefits of my journey were tangible: increased energy levels, improved mood, reduced stress and a greater sense of purpose after giving myself the time to connect to myself. As I left Spa myBlend, I felt not only pampered but truly cared for, ready to face the world with renewed vitality and confidence.

Since 1862, Ladurée has delighted our senses. Renowned for its macarons and elegant stores, this French company is one of the world’s best-known sellers of the double-decker macaron, 15,000 of which are sold every day. I was in Paris twice last year and, on both trips, made sure I stopped by Ladurée.

Torontonians are particularly lucky to have a taste of this exceptional brand in our city too, and the Yorkdale location delivers a spectacular experience that will certainly make you want to share it with a very special mom in your life. This store features a lovely Tea Room section that takes up a significant part of the space, allowing for a lovely and leisurely enjoyment of the menu. Speaking of which, the food and drink selection is delicious, and each dish (and beverage) has a gorgeous presentation. And, there is a Kids Menu, in case you decide to bring a younger member of the family along!

The savoury selection features a variety of omelettes, avocado toasts and French toasts, and croissants. We particularly recommend the Croque Monsieur as it’s both delicious and — you guessed it — extremely pretty. The cakes are lovely too, with a particular standout being the Rose Macaron Cake (ingredients include a rose macaron biscuit, raspberry chocolate crisp, grapefruit crémeux and jelly, rose cream and a rose macaron). Pair that with Marie Antoinette tea, a Rose Latte or a glass of Veuve Clicquot rosé champagne for a meal to remember.

Before you leave, make sure to drop by the counter and order a bunch of macarons to go — there are so many flavours to choose from and it’s so much fun assembling your own macaron box (alternatively, it also makes for a great present!). Bon appétit!

Begin your dinner with one of the restaurants famed cocktails, the “Miko”, which is a lovely soft blend of Aperol, shiso leaf, fresh strawberry purée and vodka. Order their unique “Park Slaw”, a delicious tower of daikon, papaya, pistachios, walnuts and sweet potatoes that has a surprising and exciting mouth feel and flavour. Move on to the Wagyu tacos with melt-in-your-mouth marinated beef, and then possibly a course of their famed Nigiri: colourful, fresh as if it just came from the sea and artfully presented. The restaurant boasts a lovely wine selection, so with the theme of our meal being seafood, a lovely Chablis topped off an exceptional culinary treat.

If you have the pleasure of having Ian Pacquin (our server) at your table, get ready for a descriptive dialogue of plates as they arrive that rivals the food itself. Ian had a mesmerizing skill of being able to paint a picture of the dishes so vividly before you sampled them, that you could almost taste them in your mouth. He may have been the best server I have had in my entire life. In this service-deprived world, the depth and quality of service is the icing on the cake and makes you feel like you stepped back in time: a true treat for Mom and yourself if you are lucky enough to accompany her.
