Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week 2024 highlights luxury in bridal design and business

April 25, 2024

Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week (BBFW) 2024 was in full swing earlier this month, showcasing couture from more than 80 countries, 37 brands and 400 companies. The event was organized by the trade show company Fira de Barcelona.

Of the 80 countries showcased, a large representation was pulled from Europe, U.S.A., Japan, South Korea and Latin America. This year, the event also experienced a 14% increase in the number of participating brands and an 80% increase in the number of  participating international companies, compared to previous BBFWs.

The bridal show brought forward a new edition of “the most prestigious designers in the industry” and transformed Barcelona to “the world epicenter for business and trends in the industry,” said Albasarí Caro, the Director of BBFW and a fashion veteran who has been working in the industry for over 20 years.

Giambattista Valli, a ready-to-wear luxury dress company, was the highlight of the week and featured the “Love Collection” 2025, which is the first exclusively bridal line for the company.

Other renowned brands showcased included Zuhair Murad, Elie Saab, Stephane Rolland and Viktor&Rolf. Featured designers included Jenny Packham, Tony Ward and Toronto-based Ines Di Santo. Georges Hobeika also joined for the first time. Aside from international designers, Fira de Barcelona sought to bring in local talent, including an installation called Barcelona Goes Bridal!
