FAJO Photoshoot: In the Eternal City, from sunrise to sunset

August 9, 2016

Many consider Rome to be the most beautiful city in the world, attracting millions of tourists every year. The capital of Italy is a breathtaking mélange of history, art and charm.

The model for this photoshoot, Diana Danilescu, is from Moldova and Slovakia, but now lives in Milan. The inspiration for the project came from the idea that she is so in love with her new homeland that she decides to plan her honeymoon wardrobe around a short trip south, from Milan to Rome.

Rome is world-famous for being the backdrop for countless “Romeo & Juliet” weddings. Our “bride-to-be” has no desire to visit the overcrowded attractions, or spend time waiting in lines to enter the Saint Peter’s Basilica or the Coliseum. Starting her weekend of wedding planning, Diana instead sits in her elegant hotel room thinking of taking a meditative walk through the less-traveled areas of the city, to clear her head and plan a truly spectacular weekend in Rome.

Considering her options for the wedding ceremony, she walks along the terrace of Rome’s City Hall or the Palazzo Senatorio, for the best view of the city’s layout.

She sits quietly in the gardens of Villa Borghese, and then wanders through Rome’s most picturesque streets to Piazza di Spagna, at the bottom of the Spanish Steps.

She finds a niche in the Parco del Colle Oppio next to the Colosseum. This park with its fountain and garden is an archaeological park and consists of the ancient ruins of the city of Rome.

Diana rehearses her wedding reception entrance at La Griffe Hotel, where banquet halls are perfect for this occasion. She wants her reception gown to be as memorable as her surroundings. The Hotel La Griffe is an elegant Roman building that dates back to the 19th century, sheltered from the hustle and bustle of Via Nazionale.

Diana contemplates another option besides a dramatic look for her reception – a soft and sexy cocktail dress instead of a full-length evening gown. She thoughtfully considers her choices while browsing in Biblioteca Angelica, a public library located in the Piazza di Sant’Agostino square, next to the church of Sant’Agostino.

Whatever her mood, Diana will be as formidable an attraction as any other found in the fascinating City of Roma.
