Nobody throws an art party like the Art Gallery of Ontario. On an annual basis, AGO hosts its Massive Party in Toronto in April, and transforms the gallery into one huge exhibit-dance floor-mingling-networking-music-fun site.
The theme this year was Hotbed, inspired by the cultural “hotbed” of the city. Party attendees had the opportunity to view and interact with the work of artists Virgil Baruchel, Broadbent Sisters, Erika DeFreitas, Maya Fuhr, Brad Tinmouth, Chloe Wise and Artistic Director TALWST. One of the biggest highlights was the dancing “bug” outside the building, who was dressed in a tuxedo!
The venue filled up with close to 2,000 party-goers for a truly memorable night. As in previous years, the outfits of all guests were eye-catching and striking. There were trendy pieces, designer clothes, classic eveningwear, and even costumes, which complemented the colourful exhibits and live shows at the gallery.
The event raised over $300,000, with all funds going to support AGO’s exhibitions and education programs.
What a fun night, see you again next year!
