An exclusive chat with the designer

Celebrated not only for its exceptional craftsmanship and innovative approach to fashion but also for its commitment to sustainability and inclusivity, Tassoni is once again adding an important charity component to his latest show.

“This year’s runway show will present my latest spring/summer and fall/winter 2025 collections while celebrating the importance of mental health and inclusivity,” he said in an exclusive interview with FAJO. “A core part of our mission is to raise awareness and support for the community. Through the support of this year’s silent auction, powered by JoeApps (independent of my company), we are proud to continue purchasing inclusive inpatient gown covers for local hospitals from FX Made in Canada, a brand from George Brown College’s Fashion Exchange, for the second year in a row.”

“This year, we’re thrilled to welcome an incredible lineup of celebrities,” he added. “This includes Nick and Maria Bateman, Sarah Blackwood from Walk Off the Earth, Miss Fiercalicious from RuPaul’s Drag Race, Eric Hall from Love Island, Gurdeep Ahluwalia, Miranda Anthistle, Tracy Tong, Lisa Morales, Nicole Servinis, Frankie Flowers, Stella Acquisto, Jennifer Hsiung, Grego Minot, Karalea Pior, Nick Dixon, Tim Bolen and Matt Carey.

Hair & makeup inspirations this year

“In addition to the fashion, this year’s event will showcase the latest hair trends by REDKEN, led by the talented and renowned Cindy Duplantis, while makeup looks will be led by the talented Nicole Cox and her expert team of artists.”

When we asked Tassoni what is he most excited about the show, he said that “this event is about so much more than fashion—it’s about bringing people together, celebrating community and showcasing the incredible talent we have here in Canada. I’m thrilled to see everyone—from across the country and even around the world—come together to experience my latest collection and support what I am working toward.”

Cindy Duplantis said that, to complement Tassoni’s fashion pieces, she is curating looks that have a timeless elegance. “Joseph brings a vibe, an energy like no one I know,” she added. “His creative, kind energy is contagious! I love the passion he brings to his art, he is a leader in the industry and it shows with his hard work, determination and the heart he puts in his show. All of this for such an amazing cause.”

Nicole Cox spoke about her creative inspirations as well. She said that since the theme of the show is inclusivity, she believes it’s important for the makeup to make the models feel like the best and most confident versions of themselves. “We want every model of each ethnicity to feel properly represented,” she explained. “We plan to do this by focusing on complexion along with complementary tones to enhance everyone’s individual natural features and beauty. I’m looking forward to watching our artistry on the models while they wear Joseph Tassoni’s designs.”
