Magda Butrym, pre-spring 2025

October 9, 2024

For her her pre-spring 2025 collection, Polish designer Magda Butrym revealed bold shapes and innovative fabrics and textures, inspired by the spirit of the iconic women. Pieces in this collection have the vibe of the 1980s/1990s with wider, boxy shapes, strong shoulders and a drop waist. Simultaneously, Butrym paired the looks with influences from older eras, by using corsets and playing with various shapes of the waist.

Butrym’s latest designs exude strength and power with a pinch of feminism mixed in, and this is a cohesive progression from her previous collections. Designed to be both versatile and accessible, the collection features a darker, burnt earthy palette in fabrics of cotton, stretchy jerseys, silks, wools and leathers. Textures range from shiny blood-red leather, eel skin and pony skin effect leather to the highly contrasted floral print against a nude backdrop, to statement crochet body-sculpted shirts and skirts, and her 3D roses on sculpted grain de poudre dresses. The designs create a powerful, sexy and strong woman.

Previously seen on Natalie Portman and Hailey Bieber, Butrym’s designs are classic and tailored to perfection for the female form.

“I don’t want to define women. I want to empower them,” says the designer. “I want us all to feel comfortable in our own skin, happy, powerful and confident. We should all be our own muses.”
