Mociun is a fine jewelry collection, made from recycled metals and precious stones. The line, designed in New York City by Caitlin Mociun, features necklaces, bracelets, earrings and rings. Mociun will also be launching a line of wedding bands this spring.

Mociun’s retail store is in Brooklyn, and it carries fine jewelry, as well as ceramics and home goods by other designers, such as David Neale, Andy Lifschutz and Shino Takeda; all of which are also available worldwide at Mociun’s online store. Additionally, Mociun specializes in custom pieces.

Born in Northern California and raised in Malaysia and Prague, Mociun founded her company in 2006, before returning to the United States to study textiles. It all began with a small collection of hand-printed women’s garments, eventually expanding to include digitally printed fabrics and fine jewelry.

In 2010, after realizing her true passion lay in fine jewelry and art objects, Mociun streamlined her brand into the line of distinctive, sustainable jewelry that it is today.

The collection is distinguishable by each piece’s delicacy and unique design, as well as the repetition of geometric shapes, including triangles, squares and circles. It is eclectic, yet refined and minimalistic, reflecting Mociun’s innovative aesthetic. Also recurring in the collection is the use of turquoise, gold and diamonds.

Mociun draws inspiration from the Bauhaus movement – where craft and fine art came together in Germany in the early 1900s – regularly using antique and repurposed fine stones in combination with other recycled, organic and alternative materials.

Most of the ceramics and home goods available cost less than $100, while bracelets and selected earrings start at $200. Prices range from around $700 to a couple thousand for many of the fine rings and necklaces, depending on the stones and recycled metals used.
