Met Gala 2014, Charles James: Beyond Fashion theme

May 6, 2014

One of the most star-studded events of the year, the 2014 Costume Institute Met Gala was themed around the Charles James: Beyond Fashion exhibition.

Dress code specifications for the gents reportedly included “white tie and decorations”, but many decided not to follow it, opting for traditional black tuxes. The ladies opted for gowns that ranged from classic pieces to outright costume-style designs.

Fashion elite gathered at the iconic The Mark hotel before heading to the event and were photographed en route to the gala.

Here are some of our favourite and not-so-favourite outfits from last night, including the photos at The Mark before and after the event, as well as select Red Carpet shots.
