The who’s who of Toronto gathered on Feb.23, 2012 for the Ovarian Cancer Canada event Love Her. The evening was organized in honour of the late Karen Campbell by four of her closest friends, in hopes that the funds and awareness raised would aid in battling ovarian cancer.
Hosted at the Fairmont Royal York, the event had an elegant air, and pampered its guests with an open bar and an array of scrumptious hors d’oeuvres. A silent auction was located at the back of the space, where the extensive list of items ranged from ballet tickets to celebrity-decorated one-of–a-kind Stuart Weitzman shoes.
The evening’s highlights included a Celine Dion impersonation by celebrated comedienne and the evening’s MC, Jessica Holmes; style tips by Jeanne Beker; the presentation of the Karen Campbell National Award for Research Excellence to Dr. David Huntsman; musical stylings of Shannon Butcher and, of course, the fashion show of the Judith & Charles collection that was styled with Stuart Weitzman shoes.
The show concluded with an auction that included a variety of fabulous prizes: a trip to Paris, a dinner for seven guests prepared by the Toronto Fireman Department and a signed Olympic jersey, which was generously purchased by Charles Le Pierrès, the Judith & Charles creative director.
