This year celebrated the tenth anniversary of the White Cashmere Collection, Canada’s first and only fashion line made entirely from Cashmere Bathroom Tissue. Some of Canada’s top designers participate in the runway show every year.
Held at Toronto’s Art Gallery of Ontario, Cashmere celebrated its anniversary with the largest cast of designers to-date. Cashmere continues to support the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation with 25 cents from the sale of every package going directly to the cause, throughout October.
Themed as The Pink and White Gala, the event was once again curated by Canadian fashion designer Farley Chatto, with 20 Canadian designers participating this year. The latest line-up included: member of the Order of Canada, Marie Saint Pierre; David Dixon; Lucian Matis; Paul Hardy; VAWK by Sunny Fong; Joseph Helmer; Hoax Couture by Jim Searle and Chris Tyrell; Comrags by Joyce Gunhouse and Judy Cornish; Anastasia Lomonova; Rita Tesolin; Rod Philpott; Christopher Paunil; Carlie Wong; Jason Matlo; David Dunkley Fine Millinery; L’Autre Couture by Luko Marion; MICALLA by Camilla Jørgensen; DylaniumKnits by Dylan Uscher; DUY by Duy Nguyen; and curator Farley Chatto.
Since its debut in 2004, the show has featured more than 125 top Canadian designers.
Canadians are invited to support the Foundation’s vision of a future without breast cancer by viewing the Cashmere BT Couture collection at Facebook.com/Cashmere from September 25 through November 1, 2013; and voting for their favourite design. Cashmere will donate $1 per vote (up to $10,000) to the Foundation in the winning designer’s name. Votes will also be entered in a draw to win a shopping spree of $10,000.
