*What does fashion mean to you?
It is an outlet to express my creativity and vision.

* How did you start your business?
From a young age, I always wanted to become a fashion designer. For a number of years, I worked in high-end retail. About eight years ago, I decided to leave retail and start my own business. I always felt that this passion of mine was born within me.

*What was the first article of clothing or jewelry that you designed?
It was a cocktail, fun dress.

*How long does it usually take you to construct a piece?
From sketching my ideas to buying the product and to having it finished, it takes about three weeks.

*What are some of your accomplishments and successes so far?
Being in Henri Bendel on Fifth Avenew in New York for six years, and now being in the John Barett Salon in Bergdorf Goodman. I’ve also started to launch my products in Moscow.

*What do you believe makes a quality article of clothing?
The material and the high quality of craftsmanship.

*Do you consider yourself an artist?
I am artist in a sense that I use my artistic creativity to develop unique fashion wear.

*What matters to you most as a fashion designer?
How the client perceives my products.

*What advice do you have for aspiring fashion designers?
If you have the creativity and passion for your product then, no matter what roadblocks are put in your way, if you stick with it and don’t give up I believe you will be rewarded.

*How would you define the style your line exemplifies?
Simplicity, elegance and uniqueness.

*Where do you get your inspiration?
By travelling and meeting interesting people. I also love nature.
