Last month, Louis Vuitton unveiled a newly redesigned store at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, reinforcing Louis Vuitton’s commitment to craftsmanship, savoir-faire and innovative design.
The store is located on the ground floor of the landmark hotel. It features a curved staircase, connecting two floors that showcase the Women’s and Men’s collections respectively. For the ultimate in bespoke luxury, Vuitton’s historic tradition of hand-crafted customization is exemplified by an on-site hot-stamping service, giving clients the opportunity to personalize a variety of leather goods. The store also boasts a dedicated Louis Vuitton artisan, apprenticed in Paris in the art of applying bespoke designs to the Maison’s historic hardsided trunks. In addition, the fragrance counter offers custom engraving for perfumes and colognes.
Fine art and design from across the world can be found in every section of the redesigned store. Several pieces were commissioned specifically for this location, which includes a painting by Italian artist Isadora Capraro designed to hang on a curved wall, a coffee table by Hélène de Saint Lager and a chandelier by Henri Bursztyn. There are also pieces by Canadian artists: Montreal-based artist Heidi Spector’s artwork that was created on Russian birch and then coated in resin to create a confection-like surface, and a striking, geometric, three-dimensional canvas by local artist Scott Sueme.
Other rare pieces on display include a Bomboca sofa and a Cocoon chair, both by Studio Campana for Louis Vuitton Objets Nomades, and a version of Marcel Wanders’ classic Objet Nomades, the Diamond Screen, woven to gigantic proportions for this location specifically.
