Designer and Project Runway judge Zac Posen is now creative director of Brooks Brothers, where he will head the label’s signature womenswear collection.
Posen, who has designed eveningwear for Michelle Obama, Uma Thurman and Naomi Watts, plans to modernize the brand.
“We are thrilled to have Zac join us as creative director of our women’s collection,” said Claudio Del Vecchio, chairman and CEO of Brooks Brothers. “As soon as we met, it was clear to us that he had a true understanding of our brand and its storied 196-year heritage, as well as the creativity to modernize our offerings within the category.”
Operating for nearly two centuries, Brooks Brothers is one of America’s oldest fashion brands, known for creating iconic pieces including the original button-down collar and the non-iron shirt.
The brand now has three labels: the signature line, Red Fleece and Black Fleece, which Thom Browne will continue to design.
Posen’s first collection as creative director will debut in spring 2016.
