Canadian couture label Pavoni has become a fast favourite across the European and North American glamour gown scene.

Since launching their evening wear line just a few seasons ago, the label has gone on to sell in London boutiques, garner celebrity fanfare and make an opulent statement with a Canadian runway debut at the World MasterCard Fashion Week in Toronto, fall/winter 2012.

Pavoni is now setting its couture caravan wheels into motion with a trunk show tour of luxury retailers worldwide. In an anticipated homecoming, Montréal design duo Mike Derderian and Gianni Falcone will be showcasing their fall 2012 women’s eveningwear collection at Holt Renfrew Toronto’s Bloor Street location on May 2 and Holt Renfrew Montréal on May 3.

Those wowed by Pavoni’s Toronto fashion week runway presentation will get an up-close-and-personal preview of the collection, and a chance to pre-purchase their favourite pieces and chat with the designers.

“Trunk shows have been great for us as a way to connect with our consumer and retailers on a more intimate and exclusive level,” says Derderian. “And, of course, it has been a great way to have retailers pick up the line if they have  not yet, because they get to see how amazingly detailed the collections are in person.”

The Pavoni tour is not unlike the designers’ typical schedule of bi-coastal living between Los Angeles and Montréal, as well as constant travel throughout Europe and Asia.

Falcone and Derderian have combined international aesthetics to form a tastefully extravagant line of beaded cocktail minis and elegant floor-length gowns. In keeping with Pavoni’s namesake inspiration – “peacock” in Italian – the event is set to flaunt an array of haute couture gowns sure to dazzle.
