Maybelline New York has announced that fashion model Freja Beha Erichsen will be the next face to join the cosmetic brand’s roster of spokeswomen. Up until now, Erichsen has been best known for modelling for top designers, including Dior, Alexander McQueen, Balenciaga, Gucci, Lanvin and Burberry.

Erichsen was first discovered in her native Denmark and rose to fame after her 2005 debut in Paris and Milan shows for Prada, Louis Vuitton and Miu Miu. Within a year, she became Karl Lagerfeld’s muse and has walked in almost every Chanel runway show since.

This is not the first time Maybelline New York pulled from the runway model talent pool. The brand’s current faces include Julia Stegner, Erin Wasson, Shu-Pei Qin and the iconic Christy Turlington.

Freja Beha Erichsen is a well-known model around the world. She has been featured in many campaigns and on numerous runways.

Erichsen’s runway-ready beauty and edgy personal style caught the attention of Maybelline earlier this year. Her urban street style has also helped earn her the “queen of cool,” designation in the fashion world. Maybelline is one of the many companies to take note, as Erichsen has previously starred in advertising campaigns for Calvin Klein, Valentino, Roberto Cavalli and many others.

With Maybelline New York being the official make-up sponsor of Mercedez-Benz Fashion Weeks around the world, the brand has a strong presence in the global fashion scene.

Eirchsen will make her Maybelline New York debut in advertising campaigns for the brand later this year.
