Lady Gaga — art or fashion?

April 16, 2014

Who doesn’t look forward to seeing some controversial fashion on the Red Carpets? It’s the “I-can’t-believe-she-wore-that” outfit that always tends to steal the spotlight. Certain celebrities have mastered the art of outlandish fashion.

Not many can leave the style community in a stir quite like Lady Gaga. Since the release of her first album, The Fame, in 2008, she has paved the way for outrageous fashion. From an outfit made entirely of meat to her unexplainable props and accessories, Gaga has created some truly unusual ensembles.

The singer not only wears these over-the-top outfits on the Red Carpet and during performances, but also carries them through to her everyday life.

Could these outfits be considered art? Or fashion? Or are they costumes?

In The Trendsetter Issue, we share some of our Gaga favourites.
