The spring/summer 2013 Legends collection by Romona Keveza was fittingly debuted in the opulent Presidential Suite at the St.Regis Hotel in New York. Select media were invited to the private showing hosted by the designer herself, providing the opportunity for an intimate view of the collection’s elegant and delicate details.

Romona Keveza presented three collections during the recent New York Fashion Bridal Market.

Fashioned to be the quintessential “iconic” wedding gown, the collection reflected the timeless elegance of celebrities past, while keeping a fashion-forward edge. Simple silhouettes carried a consistent aesthetic design, while elegant fabric and dramatic accents made each piece a unique gem. A variety of delicate lace overlays and diamond-studded trimming transformed timeless designs into modern classics. A theme of classic femininity was upheld; each piece adorned with sophisticated detail.

Keeping with Keveza’s aesthetic of “traditional-with-a-twist”, several gowns featured a nod to the mermaid-style skirt, updated with textured fabrics. One such gown focused on silk shantung taffeta, which flowed delicately around the model’s feet as if propelling her on a cloud. Also in predictable fashion, Keveza set the trend in two-piece detachable gowns. This unique garment featured a ruched bodice, made of silk charmeuse, a circle skirt and chapel train made of French net.

Keveza's collections are filled with glamour, elegance and sophistication.

Despite her avant-garde approach, Keveza maintained a timeless romantic elegance for each of her pieces. Her best seller for this collection has been a stunning off-the-shoulder number, adorned with dazzling re-embroidered lace. Like many of her gowns, it can be additionally accented at the waist with a gardenia flower belt.

Keveza describes the spring/summer 2013 Legends line to be geared towards a preppier client than her Bridal Couture line. “The Legends bride is tasteful in an understated way, who seeks out a classic, yet fashionable statement,” says the designer.

Keveza is also renowned for her Couture Bridal collection, which she describes as appealing to the “leader in timeless trendsetting” – one who is bold enough to bend the rules of traditional bridal colour palette, yet still yearns for refined elegance in design. Keveza designed spring/summer 2013 with the goal of creating pieces versatile enough to be worn in any location, from the smallest beach wedding to the grandest of villas.

Her fall 2012 Luxe Evening collection also emanates “refined luxury”. Inspired by the luxurious minimalism of Monte Carlo, the designs incorporate clean silhouettes and angular tension.

Many of Keveza’s sculptural pieces have attracted A-list celebrities and have propelled her up the ranks in the Top 100 Most Influential Fashion Designers of 2012.
