Yana Perlmuter was the star of the event!
Having been chosen to be featured on the new Entertainment One Television show Party Mamas, Perlmuter invited some 200 friends to the rooftop terrace of the trendy Ultra supper club on Queen Street West in Toronto, to help raise money for her favourite charity.
“Party Mamas is a half-hour documentary-based series that follows women as they throw outrageous parties,” explained Chris Carter, the story producer for the series.
“For the upcoming fourth season, we’re broadening the concept somewhat to include non-kid parties – and in Yana’s case, we’re covering her upcoming swimwear fashion show on … June 21.”
As soon as the guests arrived, they were asked to sign a waiver, allowing themselves to be filmed for the reality TV show. As the cameras rolled throughout the night, guests tried to remain on their best behaviour.
When the Smirnoff-sponsored vodka started pouring and the DJ began playing all the favourite summer hits, no one could stop themselves from dancing, some even brave enough to do it on the catwalk.
Later in the night, the event featured a Frederick’s of Hollywood swimwear runway show, starting with an unforgettable dance routine by one of the models, which seamlessly combined the elegance of a ballerina and the attitude of Lady Gaga.
The female models wore bathing suits in red, blue, white, black, purple and earthy shades with bejewelled accents and revealing cut-outs.
The male models were Adonis look-alikes, which helped display the tight-fitting swim trunks and briefs.
At the end of the show, Perlmuter and her husband Roy heartfeltly thanked “each and every person for being [there that night]” and for helping them raise money for POGO, the Paediatric Oncology Group of Ontario, which delivers the care for children with cancer and their families.
