Maybelline New York recently unveiled its beauty trends for the upcoming season. What can we expect? Lots of deep colours and poise!

Deep colours add a sophisticated touch.

“Opulent textures and exuberant colour were the major fashion stories revealed this season, with designers presenting embellished haute pieces to ward off chilly temperatures,” says Maybelline’s trend expert Elizabeth Chon.

“Balancing this velvet, lace and metallic decadence, the make-up went in another direction — to an edgier, darker place.

How to get various looks of fall 2013 – a couple of suggested colour combinations.

“Smoky gray eye shadow, Gothic shades of lipstick and black eyeliner, brought a grungy vibe to perfectly put-together outfits. Suddenly, the idea of matching pretty make-up to a pretty dress seems somewhat inappropriate.
