FASHIONCLASH, a large fashion festival in Maastricht, Netherlands, celebrated its fifth anniversary earlier this month.
The event included runway shows, exhibitions, pop-up shops, workshops and performances by more than 100 designers from around the world. It ran from May 31 to June 9.
FASHIONCLASH was founded in 2009 by several friends and designers, passionate about creating a fashion platform for young fashion talents. It is an initiative by Branko Popovic, Laurens Hamacher and Nawie Kuiper.
The aim of the festival is to create a “clash” with fashion. For festival’s team, “clash” stands for an inspiring encounter of different designers, disciplines, cultures and audiences. The foundation aims to present fashion in relation to a broad range of disciplines linked to it. With this concept as a starting point, FASHIONCLASH initiates and organizes interdisciplinary projects and events.
FASHIONCLASH Maastricht has become a unique platform for upcoming national and international talents. Since 2006, over 600 talents from 30 countries have joined the event.
