Sometimes referred to as the younger, hipper sister of Williamsburg, the Greenpoint neighbourhood of Brooklyn remains, for the immediate present, largely unscathed by the booming development and mass gentrification affecting its coastal neighbour to the south.
The scent of authenticity still remains (or maybe that’s just the fresh-baked Polish bread in the air) — from the brick-and-mortar boutiques along Franklin Street, to the seemingly endless genesis of vintage parlors/shops along Manhattan Avenue. And don’t you think that Greenpointers are going to be frequenting the new J. Crew popping up along Bedford Avenue. They’ll be buying eBay over retail, any day.
