This year’s Toronto International Film Festival showcased a variety of captivating films, including Ewan McGregor’s directorial debut American Pastoral, the Oscar buzz-worthy Snowden and the environmentally conscious documentary Before the Flood, featuring Leonardo DiCaprio.
During TIFF, our team was on the scene capturing all the celebrities in their Red Carpet best. Fabulous outfits focused on texture, pattern and luxury designer pieces. We were particularly struck by Jennifer Connelly in an edgy Louis Vuitton dress, Dakota Fanning who shimmered in a green Gucci gown and Shailene Woodley who had practical pockets in an Elie Saab gown.
On Sept. 7, our team attended the third annual TIFF Soirée, a fundraising event with special guest of honour: Michael Fassbender. The Academy-Award winning actor, who was at TIFF for the world premiere of the film Trespass Against Us, talked about his work in the films Hunger and 12 Years a Slave, and about his acting techniques.
Two days after the TIFF Soirée, on Sept. 9, we caught up with Fassbender to chat about Trespass Against Us. The film transports audiences to the world of the traveling community. Chad Cutler (Michael Fassbender) and his wife (Lyndsey Marshal) are part of a small group of Irish travellers. The couple fight for their children to break from tradition and get an education, so that they have more opportunities. Cutler’s father, Colby (Brendan Gleeson), the patriarch crime boss disagrees and works to keep the children fully removed from ‘normal’ society.
Here’s our interview with Fassbender, where he tells us about filming under a cow and what inspired him about the film’s script. Our Best Dressed photo gallery from the Red Carpet follows below!
