We’ve always known that Donna Karan is really cool, but her latest collection has proven that once again.

The Alchemist presentation was held earlier this month to showcase Karan’s latest line for Urban Zen, which she considers to be the natural extension of her work. As the founder of this company, Karan designs for it but has also set up The Urban Zen Foundation, which creates, connects and collaborates to raise awareness and inspire change in the areas of well-being, preservation of cultures and empowering children.

For fall/winter 2016, Karan has jumped on the bandwagon with other designers who have adopted the “buy now, wear now” approach. The presentation was held at her store in New York’s Greenwich Street. There was live music, lots of art and even a falcon.

Karan chose three key colours: black, various shades of brown and burgundy. Cashmere and silk took centrestage, with plenty of layering for most looks.
