Spring and summer are all about rejuvenation, but are also perfect for revamping your make-up and cosmetics drawer.
This season, FAJO’s team has once again reviewed beauty products by a variety of brands that will help our readers feel fresh and look great. Here are our picks, arranged by brand (in no particular order). The reviews were done by Beauty Editor Amy Pigeon, who is a professional make-up artist, Dylan Dias, who is a professional hairstylist, and our Editor-in-Chief Hannah Yakobi.
St.Tropez
A tan is a perfect transition into spring. St. Tropez Gradual Tan Plus Sculpt and Glow is a wonderful tanning lotion that is truly streak-free. It will give you a natural, bronzed colour that is the perfect balance between warm and neutral tones.
The lotion has a lovely, fresh scent that does not feel greasy when applied. The colour is buildable, which is always a perk for pasty girls like myself. It also claims to have sculpting properties when used for over four weeks. This is a great product for spring that will bring a little colour into your life.

Estée Lauder
Bronze Goddess Shimmering Body Oil Spray is the perfect product for beauties with dry skin who are looking for a bit of added radiance. This body oil leaves skin feeling soft, with a subtle, glittery finish.
The oil does not dry down, so it is advised to be used in small amounts and rubbed onto the skin—again, perfect for dryer skin types requiring a serious moisture and radiance boost.

Aerin
Aerin’s Rose collection is light, sensual and perfect for spring. Inspired by the English countryside, Garden Rose is filled with floral notes of White Bulgarian Rose, full-bodied Rose Bulgare, and Rose Centifolia, combined with the natural green notes of Geranium.
The Linen Rose scent, on the other hand, features top notes of Orange Flower and Lemon Leaves—it’s a relaxing, re-energizing scent.
The third piece from the collection is Bamboo Rose: think Bulgarian Rose enhanced by cool Jasmine Petals, Sicilian Bergamot and Mandarin Blossom, with dewy Green Leaves that add a refreshing note.
It’s a very light, fresh collection that is perfect for days spent in the sun.

INGLOT
INGLOT’s Aquastics are new cream eyeshadows that come in the perfect colours for this season. From a variety of bronzy neutrals to more playful pops of pastels, there is a colour for everyone in this collection.
The Aquastics have a wand applicator for easy product distribution. The product is wonderful with intense colour payoff and serious longevity—yet somehow can be easily removed with water-based make-up removers, reducing painful tugging and rubbing on the eyes. The Aquastics dry down and do not crease when the eye area is prepped with a primer.

CLEAN
CLEAN Lovegrass Perfume is a lovely, lightweight scent for spring. With its fresh, fruity, floral scent and notes of lemon flower, orange blossom and patchouli, Lovegrass is the perfect perfume for those who prefer softer, natural and cleaner fragrances.
Wear Lovegrass on its own or pair it with CLEAN’s Air and Skin scents for your own custom scent.

Clarins
Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil is just that—light and comforting. Not only is this formula incredibly nourishing for the lips, but it also leaves a beautiful, tinted shine for a fuller pout.
The large cocoon applicator and creamy jojoba oil help coat the entire lips with just one dip into the bottle. These oils have a fairly strong scent—but the velvety, non-sticky texture is so divine and comforting on dry lips that it’s well worth the benefits to anyone who is not used to scented products.

ARDELL
Mink lashes undeniably create a sexy, fluffy effect that is not easily achieved with synthetic lashes; however, they also raise questions about ethics and social responsibility. As a result, it was exciting to hear that Ardell created Faux Mink Lashes.
These lashes do a wonderful job mimicking the dramatic effect that real mink lashes create, while having the perks of synthetic lashes—they’re more affordable, durable and guilt-free. The faux mink lashes come in 4 different styles with a design surely suitable for everyone’s preference and eye shape.

Elizabeth Arden
For a bit of extra skin TLC, Elizabeth Arden Daily Youth Restoring Serum Capsules are a must-have in your skincare routine.
As we transition from drier, winter skin to more radiant, glowing summer skin, it’s important to nourish with a good serum before moisturizing. These serum capsules are lovely with velvety smooth texture and pre-measured doses, making it easy to ensure you’re applying an adequate amount without being wasteful.
The serum has an oily feel which is wonderful for normal to dry skin types, leaving the skin feeling truly radiant. Over time, this silky, smooth serum helps correct the visible signs of aging. The capsules are biodegradable, fragrance-free and preservative-free.

Kérastase
We love hairspray, and Kérastase’s Laque Noire is no exception. In a world that has a multitude of hairsprays, Laque Noire has a specific purpose that it does well—lock the coiffure in place.
Powerful and shiny, Laque Noire is best used as a finishing spray due to its heavier and wetter application. Once you’ve finished your style, added the products you like and polished your look, reach for this spray to make sure it lasts all day.
Good for long styles but best for short and textured styles, Laque Noire is your iron-clad, 24-hour hold hero—and it’s great for humidity protection as we transition to warmer weather, too.

Redken
Redken’s No Blow Dry series of air-styling creams promise simple and wearable hair without the necessity of your morning blowout. As long as you’re able to find the right fit for your hair type and texture—it will do just that.
Available in three thoughtful formulations—Airy, Just Right and Bossy—No Blow Dry is best applied evenly in a small amount throughout damp hair. Airy is meant for fine hair, Just Right for medium-textured hair, and Bossy for coarse, thick or unruly hair.
Regardless of the weight you choose, the creams are silky and smooth to the touch. They leave no stickiness or residue on the hair or the hands, allowing us to layer the product more easily and leaving our palms dry and fresh-feeling. This product is great for spring for that effortless, undone-done look.
