Dreamy and functional — two words to describe LACAUSA‘s spring 2016 collection. The crisp, French-influenced pieces are designed for everyday use, each with their own functional touch: reversibility, layer-ability or additional pockets.
Rebecca Grenell, LACAUSA’s founder and designer, was inspired by the style and feel of her new location after the brand opened its first brick-and-mortar store in Silverlake — a neighbourhood in Los Angeles — this past July. Grenell aspired to create pretty, flirty and effortless feelings in her designs, while remaining true to the brand’s bohemian and tomboy aesthetic.
The collection offers a range of silhouettes in light pastels and pops of colour, from a loose fitting reversible, sleeveless raw silk dress, to cropped denim trousers with a relaxed leg, to a denim jacket with an A-line hem. Looks available include the new, soft hand washes, created specifically for this collection: Swell Wash (a vibrant blue); Sun Wash (yellow); Ballet Wash (pink); and Angel Wash (a ginger-based colour, with hints of yellow and green).
Based in L.A., LACAUSA (meaning “the cause” in Spanish) was founded in 2013. The clothing retails at its Silverlake location, as well as stores across the United States, Iceland, Japan and Canada.
