Getting ready for the holidays with beGlammed

December 19, 2016

The holiday season is always an incredibly busy time, with end-of-the-year plans, gift shopping and prepping yourself for various celebrations and New Year’s Eve parties. For all the busy ladies out there who don’t have a lot of free time to go to salons for professional make-up application and hair styling, there is a solution.

BeGlammed is a digital service that can be accessed through the app or website, where you can easily set up an appointment with artists and they will come to you, whether you are at home or at the office. This past week, I experienced a beGlammed session first-hand.

I set up an appointment on Thursday evening for the Friday afternoon and the artists were very punctual: they arrived on time and glammed me up within a set time frame.

For hair, I just ordered the “Dry Styling” service and the appointed hair stylist Emylea did a great job. My hair is very curly and sometimes pretty hard to work with, but she had exceeded my expectations. I didn’t have any reference images and just said “I want something contained, pretty, but I would still like to keep the volume and look glamorous.”

Emylea created a few twists and braids, arranged my hair on a side and I had a beautiful hair-do that lasted for 3 days. The whole process took around 15 minutes and I couldn’t be happier.

Shortly after my hairstyling appointment, my make-up artist Ekaterina arrived. She was very efficient and creative. Once again, I did not provide any images of what I was looking for. I just told her: “I’m going to take a photo with Santa later today, so I’d like to have my signature winged eyeliner and some smoky eye, paired maybe with a bright lip.”

Ekaterina had a wide variety of colour palettes and products, so within 70 minutes, I looked incredibly glamourous. Although I am very picky and capricious when it comes to my look, I had absolutely no complaints and I was surprised how accurately Ekaterina was able to reflect my vague idea of what I had in mind!
