At 21 years of age, Adrian Wu is the talk of the town. His bold and experimental designs have won him the attention of nearly every news publication and television station in Canada.

Wu deferred his acceptance to the prestigious Istituto Marangoni’s Fashion School in London to start his own label in 2010. So far, he has shown at Vancouver, Ottawa and Toronto Fashion Weeks, and has been published in the Style Diaries book.

For his latest Holiday Collection, Wu focused on “the juxtaposition of minimalism and cubism – simple dress patterns versus extravagant headpieces.”

The headpieces were made out of gray malleable Styrofoam, braided into large sculptures. The dresses were classic sheath pieces, accented with colour blocking or peplums. The materials were silky and delicate.

Wu explained that he wanted to take himself out of his comfort zone of volumous garments, and create something more dressy, shiny and simple.
