Walking into The Standard: High Line Hotel in New York City to eerie opera music, and a huge group of people standing around the stage and in the pit, built anticipation for an amazing show ahead.
Down a sandy runway came out a model in a black swimsuit, low neck and cutouts on the sides: it was a swimwear opening with style, and a great start for a spring/summer collection.
Gallagher opted for a black-and-white colour scheme, punctuated with taupe neutrals.
She used the right details to overpower any use of bold shades: mixed fabrics, low necks, cutouts. The collection consisted of a variety of dresses and swimwear that was sexy, and classy.
Each model had her hair pulled up with metal embellishments that gave an organic sense of summer.
An impressive crinkled taupe jacket was paired with a mini leather skirt to create sophistication with an edge. It pointed to Gallagher’s skill to play with fabrics in an artistic manner.
The designer’s attention to detail pulled the looks together quite well, from the hair and neutral make-up to the piping on tights and the stitching on each piece.
