There are only a few days left to check out the new Italian cuisine experience at Eataly – and you don’t want to miss it!
The project is done in collaboration with Mutti, a fourth-generation family-operated company who consider themselves “the guardians of authentic tomato flavour”. Mutti revolutionaized the tomato industry in 1899 with their canned tomato concentrate and became Italy’s number 1 tomato brand. Their continued use of traditional methods passed on through generations, combined with innovative production processes, set Mutti apart. And so did their extracting growth and production standards, from their symbiotic working relationship with the 800 farmers who grow their tomatoes. At the core of their work is also the respect for nature and commitment to sustainable farming practices, which has seen the company continue to decrease their waster and CO2 footprints since 2010.
Which brings us to Toronto, where Mutti is featuring 4 dishes on Eataly’s menu this month, all made with their renowned product: Polpa. The latter is made using 100% Italian tomatoes from the famed Emilia Romagna region, and like all Mutti products, they are sun-ripened and then processed within 24 hours of harvest. The four dishes you can exclusively experience at Eataly this month are:
- Bruschetta con Mutti Polpa e Mozzarella
- Polpette di Manzo e Maiale con Mutti Polpa
- Tagliatelle con Pesto di Pomodoro e Rucola
- Mutti Tomato Jam and Sweet Passata Tiramisú
