Tucked away within the idyllic shores of the Tyrrhenian Sea, the brand new Aethos Sardinia hotel offers an unparalleled escape into luxury and tranquility on the gorgeous Costa Smeralda. From the moment we set foot on the property, it was evident that this hotel was something special. We were greeted warmly with complimentary prosecco, setting the tone for the exceptional experience that awaited us.

The property feels more like a Caribbean resort than a traditional hotel, with its composition of dozens of villas scattered throughout the labyrinth of lush grounds, sweeping views of the sea and picture-perfect corners at every turn.

Upon entering our beautifully designed room, we were welcomed with an array of delightful gifts. A cocktail recipe book by Sasha Petraske: “Regarding Cocktails”, face SPF, delicious olives, and other snacks and drinks awaited us. Aethos literature decorated the tables with playful copy lines like “where adventure lives” and “do not steal the lemons”, showcasing their commitment to a cohesive and stylish aesthetic. Stepping onto the patio, we found two luxurious loungers and a breathtaking view of the Gulf of the Tyrrhenian Sea. 

Not highlighted enough in typical travel reviews, the bathrooms were beautiful. The exceptionally large showers were a pleasant surprise, compared to any other Italian hotel we had stayed in and they also featured an extensive toiletry/accessory collection.

The standout feature of the rooms was the part that most hotels tend to neglect, and is ironically the most important element: the beds. It’s crazy to think that many hotels, including 5-star calibre properties, don’t pay enough attention to the part of a vacation that is the most important for recharging: your sleep. The Aethos beds were a dream come true. After a day of island adventures, crawling into these beds felt like sinking into a cloud. 

Onto the adventures. Aethos offers an array of activities to ensure a memorable stay. Guests can embark on sailing journeys, indulge in sound bath meditation sessions, rent kayaks and e-bikes, partake in boxing sessions, or enjoy massage and body treatments. It’s a place where relaxation meets excitement. One of the highlights of our stay was a sunrise yoga session. Conducted on a room patio, it was a beautiful way to start the day. 

Aethos also boasts two stunning pools, including an infinity pool overlooking the sea. Both pools feature bars and gorgeous cabanas with towels awaiting guests, ensuring maximum comfort without the need to bring your own. Each day, different complimentary snacks were offered with drink purchases, including the most delicious sundried tomato jams served with wafer-thin flatbread crisps.

During our stay, we had the pleasure of interacting with the wonderful staff who were all so warm and keen to make our stay lovelier than we could have imagined. For example, our concierge offered incredible local recommendations in the nearest town of Cannigione. Thanks to him, we discovered Pizzeria da Serafino, which was a fantastic pizza stop.

Aethos Hotel in Sardinia is a slice of paradise. With its luxurious accommodations, thoughtful amenities and exceptional service, it offers an unforgettable escape for adventurers visiting Northern Sardinia. Whether lounging by the infinity pool, indulging in island adventures or simply relaxing in the most comfortable beds, Aethos ensures every moment is pure bliss. “La dolce vita” indeed!
