As winter sets in, there’s a natural urge to hibernate. Terrasse William Gray in Old Montréal offers an irresistible reason to embrace the frosty season and get excited instead. The experience includes the prettiest spot to brunch, breathtaking views, and warm, cosy domes.
We had the pleasure of attending the launch of this winter pop-up, and it was a magical experience from start to finish. Located on the 8th-floor rooftop of Hotel William Gray (a hotel which we love), this unique dining spot offers an unforgettable opportunity to immerse yourself in Montréal’s winter wonderland while staying perfectly warm.
Unique winter dining experience
The heated, see-through geodesic domes offer panoramic views of Old Montréal’s skyline, including the iconic Place Jacques-Cartier, the St. Lawrence River and the Montréal ferris wheel. Each dome is designed for intimate groups of four to eight, making it the perfect setting for anything from a romantic dinner to a family brunch. This is winter dining completely reimagined.
The domes protect you from the elements while elevating your dining experience with a cosy ambience that feels straight out of a holiday movie. Whether you are there for a leisurely morning or an intimate evening, Terrasse William Gray ensures every moment is wrapped in winter charm. While there wasn’t any snow during our visit, I can only imagine how breathtaking the view would be covered in that pure white. I’ll certainly be back to experience this in all its glory!
The food
Terrasse William Gray’s curated dining experience is a feast for the senses and a feast in general. The weekend brunch, offered every Saturday and Sunday, is an indulgent three-course affair that will leave you satisfied. Classic dishes like Duck Confit Eggs Benedict (crowd favourite) shine alongside inventive creations like Sweet Potato Pancakes (my favourite) topped with blueberry compote, orange pistachio and mascarpone. It’s a perfect way to spend a winter morning.
Evenings transform the domes into a more refined, intimate space, with a five-course dinner menu, available every night of the week under fairy lights. From starters that celebrate local ingredients to decadent seasonal desserts, the culinary journey is as delightful as the setting.
Now, let’s talk drinks and cocktails menu, because they’re a story of their own. The Snowy Margarita is a showstopper, combining real coconut, cream and Cointreau into a delicious creation that looks as good as it tastes. Its stunning presentation is sure to light up your Instagram feed. For those craving something sweet and cosy, the Caramel Latte with whipped cream and Biscoff is pure decadence in a cup: a really big cup. It’s the perfect treat to fuel a leisurely stroll through the charming streets of Old Montréal.

Whether you’re brunching with friends, dining with someone special or hosting a private event, Terrasse William Gray is the place to be this winter. Step into a heated dome, sip on a Snowy Margarita and watch the city’s snowy wonderland unfold around you. Trust us, it’s an experience that will keep you warm this winter.
