Every fashionista must have a pair of Louboutins. She will flash the red soles, as she struts around the city in shoes that are likely to be at least five-inches tall. Other style gurus will nod with approval.

The company’s story began in 1992, when designer Christian Louboutin opened his first boutique at 19 Jean-Jacques Rousseau in Paris. Twenty-one years later, the brand now has 73 stores worldwide and has started to create shoes for men as well.

Louboutin’s creations are affectionately referred to as “Louboutins” or “Loubis” in the fashion industry, and they have been worn by many celebrities on Red Carpets and in Hollywood films. A retrospective exhibition of his inventive designs was held in 2012 at London’s Design Museum and is planned to tour globally after it opened in Canada on June 21.
