February 11, 2021

It’s almost that time of the year again, when we profess our love to those very dear to us: Valentine’s Day is around the corner!

If you left shopping to the very last-minute, our luxury gift guide will be your go-to checklist. This year, we partnered with Coty brands to review some of their new and staple products, and compiled our Top 5 list that is sure to make any woman on your list happy: be it your Mom, sister, best friend, colleague or even yourself!

1) Burberry Kisses Lipstick

A few years ago, I tried Burberry Kisses lipstick for the first time. I opted for Military Red (109) and, to this day, I truly believe that Burberry makes some of the best lipsticks on the market (if not the best). The texture of this product is incredible: it’s very soft, extremely hydrating and just glides on amazingly. The colour selection is lovely, the packaging is truly luxurious and these lipstick are a joy to apply, every time. Latest releases include Bright Orange, which I highly recommend.

2) Burberry Kisses Lip Lacquer

If you prefer a lipgloss experience for your lips, then this is an excellent line of product to choose from. Of particular note is the vibrant and daring limited-edition Electric Orange (27) hue. It’s perfect for creating bold and beautiful lips that last all day.

Burberry Kisses Lip Lacquer is Burberry’s first long-lasting liquid lip lacquer with a glossy, laminated finish. High-shine and full coverage in one stroke, the innovative, non-drying formula delivers bold colour with a comfortable gel-like texture. The hyaluronic acid-enriched formula helps keep lips moisturized and supple all day.

You can use the tip of the applicator to line your lips with precision, then use the flat part to fill in the lips for bold colour impact.

3) Burberry Runway Eye Palette

Let’s face it: we are all bundled up in the winter. With limited essential outings due to the pandemic, and mandatory masks, the focus is truly on the eyes. So if you wanted to choose only one makeup item this season, then this gorgeous eye palette should be your go-to.

This exclusive Runway Eye Palette is a nine-shade eye shadow palette that captures the essence of the classic yet eccentric Burberry look in matte, shimmer and metallic finishes.

The sleek golden case makes the packaging a perfect celebration of spring. The timeless Brown and Burgundy hues are paired with vibrant Gold and Vermilion Red. Coated with an advanced powder technology, the pigments of the three formulas combine contrasting ultra-sensorial textures with the maximum colour pay off for long-lasting hold. The soft, matte finish offers a velvet touch, while the shimmer shades create a silky base and the metallic texture melts from powder to fluid on your skin. Since it’s designed to be layered, this palette is perfect for creating subtle or dramatic looks, whichever you prefer. More importantly, it’s formulated without parabens, D5, oil or mineral oil.

4) Marc Jacobs Daisy Love fragrance

We may not be going out much these days, but nothing works better than a pick-me-up with a fabulous fragrance. Trust me. Sometimes, in the middle of the day, I randomly spray onto myself one of my favourite fragrances – and that scent is an immediate mood booster and a reminder of spring!

Daisy Love is a light, joyful, floral fragrance. Its key notes feature Crystallized Cloudberries, Daisy Tree Petals, Cashmere Musks and Driftwood.

Created by master perfumer Alberto Morillas, this gourmand fragrance is an ode to the Marc Jacobs’ iconic daisy. The packaging is pretty and feminine, and the scent is irresistible and addictive. All in all – a perfect gift.

5) Philosophy Nature in a Jar skin reset serum with bakuchiol

Last, but certainly not least, is skincare. Every year, as our harsh Canadian winter makes its triumphant return, we worry about the dryness and dullness of our skin. Add the lack of activity during this season, and you end up with a need for true energy boost.

Philosophy’s Nature In a Jar is an excellent face serum with bakuchiol that improves fine lines, wrinkles, dryness and uneven texture, and offers additional skin smoothness. It’s essentially a youth reset complex with bakuchiol, a natural retinol alternative, which is known to support natural collagen and provide antioxidant benefits. It also contains olive leaf extract, which helps energize the skin and recharge cells.

Best of all, this product is free of parabens, formaldehydes, formaldehyde-releasing agents, phthalates, mineral oil, sulfates SLS & SLES, and contains less than one percent synthetic fragrance. It is also vegan, gluten-free, cruelty-free, and comes in recyclable packaging. It’s a true win-win.

Retails for CAD$78.
