Exciting news for Toronto: a trendy new hair salon has opened on Queen West on Wednesday! Co-founded by Nicole Pidherny (master colourist and scalp expert) and David Nadicci (master cutter and balayage specialist), Pomme Toronto has many unique offerings that will truly change the way you approach a visit to a hair salon.
Earlier this fall, while the owners were still in the midst of designing the space for the big opening, I dropped by Pomme with our Managing Editor Ada Yakobi for a curated appointment with Nicole. She did a complete hair makeover for both of us and also shared the story of how her business came to be.
After 13 years in the industry, Nicole originally founded Pomme Salon in Kelowna, BC. The environment at the salon was built in a way that clients feel like they’re hanging out and connecting with friends, leaving any Pomme experience with a profound sense of gained practical knowledge and community. Pomme works exclusively with top brands like Kérastase, Pureology (100% vegan) and Shu Uemura.

With nearly 10 years in operation, Nicole has built Pomme further than a thriving storefront into a multi-level business. This includes a digital hair education resource and e-commerce platform with its own branded hair tools, Pommeshell, The Brand. Pomme’s website is very accessible and user-friendly, and allows browsing by hair concern instead of brand or specific product. The options are vast and include: Dry Hair, Damaged Hair, Frizz Control, Hair Loss & Thinning, Postpartum Hair Loss, Oiliness and Itchy Scalp, among others. This is what makes Pomme unique: it bridges the gap between the salon and home. The opening of Pomme in Toronto is the next expansion phase of the business.
Our appointment with Nicole was wonderful: in just under two hours, she did pure magic with treating our scalps, colouring our hair and giving both of us fantastic haircuts. And, the sense of community that Pomme creates was truly felt, as we left feeling like we just hung out with a long-time friend.

Specializing in hair and scalp education, Nicole is an industry leader in extending hair appointments into educational sessions. It was fascinating to chat with her about some of our hair or scalp issues, and how quickly she was able to assess us and pinpoint the solutions. We also enjoyed chatting about Pomme products, like The Scalp Massager and The Pomme Brush. These two items are a great addition to your at-home care regimen; and they are very pretty too!
