The chic shades of Lancôme’s spring collection

February 14, 2014

Lancôme’s spring 2014 make-up collection does not stray from its luxurious reputation.

Now in stores across Canada, the Lancôme French Ballerine line is designed to reflect the grace of a dancer. The colours include shades of pinks and creams, perfect for a warm spring day.

A standout piece is the Highlighter Blush, adorned with a fuchsia satin knot, its mirrored lid is reminiscent of studio mirrors. Inside, its silky-fine powder reveals a stylised Lancôme rose, crafted from intertwined ribbons.

The collection features actress Lily Collins, a rising star who is often compared to carrying herself like Audrey Hepburn. Lancôme and Collins are “paying homage to the unique grace of the dancer: so disciplined and yet so free, [the dancer] crafts her next on-stage triumph in the studio, sublime in her leotard and ethereal tutu. Practice over, she disappears in [a] few light steps and slips into the night of the city…”

The collection also features waterproof eyeliners in prune and noir, a sleek Doll Lashes Mascara, as well as pink and nude lip glosses that will turn heads and stay on from morning to night.

For those looking for more colour pop, the brand has released an extended new, long-lasting lipwear line. Lip Lover packs in all-day colour and shine, but protects lips in the process. The line features a hybrid formula with “made-to-measure” shine.

For everyday wear, the Lip Lover Collection has its Basic Chic shades — elegant and professional colours in shades such as 312 Pointe de Rose and 332 Beige Adage.
