The Body Shop has teamed up with model, actor and activist Lily Cole to launch a new beauty line, called Cruelty Free Make-Up.
The limited edition cosmetics hit the stores across Canada yesterday – just in time for the summer. Fashion darling Lily Cole is promoting the line as the company’s first Global Brand Advocate.
The line combines a shimmer and colour with six multi-use products, ideal for effortless blending of soft airy looks. Must-have items include the Pearl Radiance Primer with light-diffusing pearls, the creamy Lip & Cheek Dome in Pinch Me Pink, and crease-resistant Shimmer Cubes that are ideal for contact lens wearers.
The Body Shop is consistently dedicated to manufacturing cosmetics that are completely vegetarian and not tested on animals. This commitment has extended to offering products free of bug shell extract, shellfish and animal hair. It was also the first brand to have brought the benefits of fair trade to the beauty industry through its own Community Fair Trade program that introduced 100 per cent recycled packaging, and is aimed to raise funds and awareness on key issues of the day, including sex trafficking.
With cosmetics priced at $5–$22, choosing to go cruelty-free does not have to be expensive. And with ultra-expressive hues, this line lives up to its hot pink packaging.
