We’ve all been there. It could be the middle of the week, or a weekend evening. Either way, you’re looking forward to a night in—date night. Better yet, pizza night.

One of our favourite ways to spend an evening is to settle down with a glass of wine, a movie and some delicious pizza. And with two exciting new flavours of Delissio Rustico pizza, along with a few simple, fresh ingredients, we made a delicious couch-side meal for two in no time at all, and with no cooking required.

To complement those flavours, we chopped some fresh basil and topped the pizza with it once it was out of the oven. We also made two quick and easy dipping sauces for the crusts: a classic Italian olive oil and balsamic vinegar dip, and a marinara made from a tomato puree (available in cans at the grocery store) and chopped basil, which we heated up in the microwave for a minute.

We selected a full-bodied, rich wine from Santorini. And we couldn’t resist picking up a bit of baklava to nosh on afterward.
