May 8, 2017

It’s Monday—the start of a new week. Most of us wake up craving a daily boost, which normally comes in the form of a delicious and aromatic cup of coffee.

This month, we chatted with the leaders in coffee-making—the team at Nespresso—and got some exclusive recommendations by Katrine Gouron, Nespresso Canada’s Coffee Ambassador, on how to get that perfect brew!

What are the three Nespresso machines that you recommend for our readers?

VertuoPlus, CitiZ and Inissia.

What is the one unique feature of each machine? What makes it different from others?

Created specifically for the North-American coffee enthusiast, the Vertuo™ range launched in 2014 and revolutionized the single-serve coffee industry with the ability to brew both large-cup, high-quality coffee, and authentic espresso. The new VertuoPlus has a rotating water tank to adjust and fit different spaces. It also features an updated look and is available in an assortment of colours for all design aesthetics.

CitiZ, on the other hand, is part of the OriginalLine range. It’s appreciated by premium coffee and design fans across the globe thanks to its simple interface, stunning design and consistently excellent coffee extraction. Its design has been recently refreshed with sleek, premium finishes that were inspired by iconic city landmarks.

The charming Inissia is also part of the OriginalLine range. It is inspired by fun, clever and highly functioning design articles, representing simplicity at its best. This small, sleek machine features all of Nespresso’s high-end, advanced technology to allow for a 25-second heat up, ensuring you have your coffee immediately!

Who is each machine best suited for?

Our machines are versatile and can please various demographics. For example, the VertuoPlus is perfect for the long-cup coffee lover. It’s the perfect treat for a busy mom, both at home or on-the-go.

The urban and sleek design of the CitiZ is ideal for the cosmopolite with a contemporary kitchen space.

As for Inissia, its smaller scale is a hit with millennials and anyone conscious of their counter space. It falls perfectly with the minimalistic and micro-condo trends.

Which Nespresso capsules do you recommend for spring?

Solelio and Giornio, part of the Vertuo™ range, are my go-to morning Grands Crus. Specifically developed for the morning moment, they offer the utmost spring awakening!

Solelio, sourced from Kenya and Colombia, has toasted cereal notes enriched by delicate fruit; whereas Giornio, a velvety medium roast from Ethiopia and Kenya, features toasted cereal tones with subtle white floral notes.
