A few weeks ago, our team attended The Photography Show 2017 held in New York.
One of the world’s most prestigious annual photography events, the show is the longest-running and foremost exhibition dedicated to the photographic medium, offering a wide range of museum-quality work, including contemporary, modern and 19th-century photographs, as well as photo-based art, videos and new media.
Presented by AIPAD, the event was held at Pier 94 for the first time. The newly expanded showcase featured photography from early masters, modern luminaries, and emerging and established contemporary artists from more than 115 of the world’s leading fine art galleries. There were some spectacular pieces by many legendary fashion and beauty photographers as well, including visionaries like Irving Penn.
With four new sections—Salon, Gallery, Positions and Discovery—the show offered work from both AIPAD members and new exhibitors, as well as younger galleries, book dealers and publishers. For a full list of exhibitors and their work, visit the show’s website.
Following our visit, we decided to share some of our favourite images from the event.
