Power Ball XVIII: Pleasure Principle

For the eighteenth year, the Power Ball at The Power Plant Gallery proved to be the party of the year in Toronto.

With an intriguing theme, Pleasure Principle, guests were immersed in an atmosphere of art, fashion and live performances.

Each room at the gallery featured a different set-up: from an Opium Den by Karen Tam, where attendees could relax on pillows spread out on the floor, to futuristic spaces with projections on the walls by Lorna Mills and a 3D mirror by Jordan Söderberg Mills. The key sponsor of the Power Ball was Italian luxury brand Max Mara and their runway show was projected on a wall in one of the rooms.

Outside the gallery space, guests were relaxing and creating grams and snapchats on the installation Inflatable Culture by Coryn Kempster and Julia Jamrozik, which consisted of beach paraphernalia. By the end of the party, inflatable creatures had the life of their own!

The pleasure principles of all guests were satisfied not only by the striking art installations and can can performances, but also several photobooths and complimentary lipsticks by BITE (which nicely matched the promo poster of the party).

Guests consisted of the most fashionable people in the city.

All attendees were able to enjoy food from Parts & Labour Catering and Squish Candies. Drinks were available at the multiple open bars, which included Caesars by Walter Caesar, gin drinks from the Toronto Distillery Company, custom creations by Patron Tequila, and a Jack Daniels bar.

The energy was pumping and the Ball could have continued until sunrise, if only it was allowed.
