#FNLROM: Fashion 2017

October 3, 2017

On Friday, Sept.29, the Royal Ontario Museum kicked off the next Friday Night Live—a huge party in a museum with live music, food, drinks and entertainment.

To bring to life the Fashion theme that was celebrated on that particular night, the museum organized a variety of fashion shows, installations and interactive activities.

On the main floor, DJ Mista Jiggz was playing groovy hits and the main hall was turned into a giant dancefloor. Every hour-and-a-half, there was a 15-minute fashion show of Northern Spirit: Esto Style—original Estonian fashion and design. It was presented in partnership with the Estonian Ecumenical Relief Organization.

On the second floor, in Bronfman Hall, there was a display of installations, organized by Cashmere Bathroom Tissue, White Cashmere Collection™ 2017, that featured original creations from Canada’s next generation of fashion designers. Outstanding gowns and outfits, made out of tissue were truly remarkable. They were presented at a runway show in the museum earlier that week.

On the fifth floor in an intimate lounge, a fashion illustrator was painting in watercolours the outfits of the fashionable guests to commemorate the event. However, the line-up was very long and was closed quite early.

The guests could buy food and drink tickets to exchange them for tacos and cupcakes, Hawaiian burgers and cocktails. There were photo opportunities and live bands playing, while guests were able to experience the museum’s collections and dance to the best hits under the renowned dinosaur skeleton.

#FNLROM: Fashion Friday was a great opportunity to experience an extraordinary party.
