In-depth: British Fashion Awards

January 23, 2014

Last month, a well-dressed collective descended upon the London Coliseum for the 2013 British Fashion Awards.

The ceremony, held on Dec.2 by the British Fashion Council, saw the best of the British and international fashion industries, joined by an array of glamorous guests and presenters, including Kate Moss, Donatella Versace, Harry Styles, Alexa Chung and Marc Jacobs.

Christopher Kane and Christopher Bailey (for Burberry) were awarded the highest accolades of the evening — Womenswear and Menswear Designer of the Year (respectively). Burberry was also named Designer Brand of the Year.

In response to the ever-increasing globalization of the fashion industry — to recognize an international designer with global influence — an International Designer of the Year category was introduced and awarded to Miuccia Prada for Prada.

Kate Moss and fashion journalist Suzy Menkes each received Special Recognition Awards for their significant influence in the fashion industry over the past 25 years.

Naturally, the Red Carpet was all about the Brits: Alexa Chung wore a dress by last year’s British Designer of the Year, Stella McCartney; Rita Ora opted for Vivienne Westwood; and Burberry was seen on numerous stars, including Sienna Miller, Suki Waterhouse and Jamie Campbell Bower.

Here are some of the best Red Carpet looks from the 2013 BFAs.
